ONE FOR THE BIRTHDAY GIRL!
I have been working on something very special, and I am excited to share it on the blog with you!
Our little girl recently turned one, and we wanted to celebrate her in a big way! Our daughter turning one was a huge deal for us, we know how blessed we are to have a happy and healthy baby girl. If you are a parent you know all of the things you have to worry about, and when you reach the time when you realize how fast the milestones arrive, you wish time would stand still for a little awhile longer. So, as the party planner that I am, throwing a big birthday bash was the only way to celebrate those first milestones.
I had a vision of a gold and pink color palette, with a sprinkle of elephants throughout the decor
(elephants have been her theme throughout her nursery, and I wanted to continue them throughout the party). We placed a collage of photos, from one month to eleven months on the pink and gold dots, and draped them on the windows for everyone to see how much she had grown in that short amount of time. I created a large fabric back drop to adorn the back of the dessert table, and oh...the desserts. The Sweetery created gold honey pear macarons, chocolate cupcakes with a gooey caramel middle, and fresh vanilla bean for the birthday girls smash cake. I also made fresh cake pops, with pink and gold edible glitter. Different shades of pink, mixed with gold were used for the linens, with pink runners draping the gold table clothes. Brush & Dust created custom chalk boards that greeted guests when they arrived, and thanked them as they left. Chalk boards were also created for the gift and dessert tables reminding guests how thankful we were for them, and our birthday girl. Party Animalz created custom balloons in our color palette, with lots and lots of glitter! Because we all know...you can't have a party without glitter! This all took place inside the glass enclosed atrium at Cimino's Litte Italy in Freeport IL.
Celebrating Miss Zoey's first birthday with all of our loved ones, was the icing on the cake!
