Hello! Let me first start out by Congratulating you on your engagement! What an exciting time.
With engagment season and bridal shows in full swing, I thought I would give some advice from a seasoned bride who has gone to many bridal shows, and a business owner who just did her first bridal show as a vendor.
-Don't be shy when it comes to meeting all of the vendors at the show. Ask a lot of questions, this will give you a lot of knowledge to take with you on your wedding planning journey.
-Set up a new email for you and your fiance to receive emails strictly for wedding related material. This will help you keep track of vendor emails, and exclusive offers.
-Preprinted labels! Put your name, email address, and wedding date on these, and when you need to fill out a form or enter for prizes, stick them on the paper. It is a quick and easy way to save you time.
-Bring a bag for all those goodies you get to bring home and sort through.
-Take photos if there is something you like or need to remember.
-When you get home sort all of the vendor material out into piles, Wedding Planners, Dj's, Bakeries, Florists, Rentals, Photographers, etc. Make notes on the vendor material about the vendors you met, things you liked or maybe disliked. This will help you big time with your decision making in the future.
-Start a binder for all the vendors, label each category, and slide your favorite vendor information into each slot.
-If you are even slightly interested in a vendor, set up a consultation ASAP. Wedding dates get booked very quickly around this time, and you don't want to miss out on your preferred choice.
-Most of all have fun! Take it all in, get ideas, some helpful information, and have a relaxing day with your fiance, bridesmaids, groomsmen, mom, or friends.
